The Guest Lodge bathroom renovation project at the VFW National Home for Children reached a new milestone this week, surpassing $100,000 in donations. As of the end of March, the project has raised $100,035.46. The project’s goal is to raise $150,000 by the end of June 2011.
“Veterans of Foreign Wars’ Auxiliaries and friends across the nation have really stepped up for this project,” said National Home Executive Director Patrice Green. “With the enthusiasm and hard work our Auxiliaries have shown so far, I know we’ll make it to our goal of raising $150,000 and fully funding the renovation.”
The project, which was launched by the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW under the leadership of President Cortina Barnes, calls for renovating all 13 guest room bathrooms, as well as the two public restrooms in the building. Construction is well underway, and several units have already been redone.
There’s still time to support this important project, and every little bit helps. Donations for the Guest Lodge bathrooms should be sent to the National Home and should specify that they are for the “Guest Lodge Bathrooms Project”.
